COVID Financial Crisis Response

The current public health crisis presents grave challenges for nonprofit leaders. Funding sources and operations are disrupted, and the likelihood of a deep recession looms. Organizations that prepare and respond will be in the best position to weather the storm and regain equilibrium.

PIM has delivered financially savvy organizational development and planning services to nonprofits since 2007. In response to the current crisis we’ve developed two approaches that address critical short- and long-term financial challenges in a systematic way. Both build on methods we’ve honed over the past decade and are delivered virtually:

Strategic Financial Planning Cohorts

We guide virtual groups of nonprofits through a concise planning process that combines analysis, coaching, expert reviews of plans, and development of peer support channels for participants as they navigate emerging challenges. Participants will emerge with flexible financial strategies that set targets for short-term performance and longer-term sustainability.

This program is offered to a limited number of cohort groups ranging from 10-20 organizations in several cycles through the year. Cohorts can be assembled in flexible ways, for example by target population, geography or national peers with common service models. Groups are organized by a host organization. This design allows us to reduce the per-organization cost by over 60%. Funding may include a combination of participant fees and grant support.

Live Webinar Financial Planning Training

In this sequence of two 90-minute webinars we help nonprofit leaders visualize financial strategies to proactively address the short- and longer-term impacts of the crisis. At the conclusion of the series, participants will have a conceptual framework to respond in a systematic way and clarify a path toward financial sustainability amid uncertainty.

The program will be offered publicly and is available through host organizations, with an option of customized content for target audiences.
